About Me

Danette
My career as a mom started 15 years ago with the arrival of my son, Blaine. He was followed by Makenna, 13, and Bram, 7. I am a stay at home mom and homeschool the boys. Makenna goes to an all girl school. I have been married to my husband,Jim, for almost 19 years. We began a new life in the beautiful Smokey Mountains of North Carolina last year when Jim took a new job here. Originally from Michigan, we both gradutated from the University of Michigan School of Nursing. Jim later went on to become a family medicine doctor. I have always been interested and active in politics, though I mostly focused on social issues. However, with the advent of April 2009, that all changed when I unknowingly started what was to become The Lapeer County Tea Party Patriots. I helped get this group off the ground and served with them for two years until making the move to NC last year. I have a passion for three things: being a mom, serving Christ, and working to restore foundational truths and principles about our country. While separate, these three entities also weave and entertwine creating the fabric of my life. And what an interesting life it is!
